As we got closer, we realized that they were watching the end of the Celtics/Bulls game seven match-up. As we muscled our way into the crowd to get a better look at the screen, I noticed a sports-radio commentator for the Rays that was set up right near the entrance. No doubt the radio station's intention was to have this commentator discuss Rays baseball with a restaurant full of Rays fans, but this particular night they would have no such luck. Many may doubt a repeat from the Boston Celtics due to the trades made out in the Eastern Conference. Definitely, many teams have improved with regards to their line-up. You have Toronto with two imposing big men, then you also have Philadelphia adding up Elton Brand. The Eastern Conference has beefed up for sure but as the saying goes, "Don't ever underestimate the heart of a champion."

James Posey leaving the Celtics will have a small impact but this in tact unit can still carry the load left by Pose. There are many other role players in this line-up that can provide enough stats and determination to assist the team. Adding Patrick O'Bryant is a good move coz Perk will have a legitimate back-up center. There's no more P.J. Brown as well, which means that the veteran leadership will shift into the Big Three and to Sam Cassell as well.

The Boston Celtics is the best team because they have come up with the winning formula to capture a crown. Though many say that the "Big Three" does it all, we can't just disregard the bench and the role players who's ready to step up in any given situation.

This really highlighted the Celtics shortcomings. KG puts so much effort into both his offense and defense, that at times he overwhelms himself and just can't keep up with these younger forwards. The reason being, Stone Hands/ Cement Feet Kendrick Perkins is getting outrebounded, pump faked, and beat off mediocre turn arounds, left and right. KG has to get Perk's back. Ray Allen, although at times seems to be a sufficient enough defender, gets caught up in screens and lost underneath the hoop on backdoor cuts, which leads to KG getting his back. Paul Pierce, who defended like he did in his early years, is sometimes just not athletic enough to defend against the Joe Johnsons and LeBron James's. Thus this leads to KG stepping into the lane to get Pierce's back. Ultimately, KG is often defending 4-5 guys every time down the court. That's just unfair to expect him to do this for 40+ minutes.

oston fans have nothing to worry about.  With home court advantage throughout the playoffs the Celtics have the inside track to the NBA title.  I have never seen anything like this before.  Home court advantage is obviously important, it is why teams play the whole regular season and it’s why Major League Baseball puts it up for grabs every July in the All-Star game.  But I didn’t know that playing in front of your home crowd mattered this much.

East

Celtics-Hawks: Honestly, this is the only sentence I am writing about this series because it’s going to be an easy sweep.  Celtics in 4.

Cavs-Wizards: By far the most intriguing first round series in the East.  These two teams have met in the last two years and the Cavs have won both times.  LeBron owns this team but this year could be different.  The Wizards are finally healthy and have more confidence then they have had in the past.  They truly believe they can beat the Cavs, as evident by their comments last week stating they wanted to play Cleveland.  The LeBron’s are not as good this year as they were last year so this could definitely be the Wizards time.  With that said, I don’t see LeBron out in the first round.  Cavs in 7.

The Celtics had the night off. And the Bruins flat out took the night off.  Just when I thought it looked like the Bruins might have found their identity, they went back to skating on thin ice.  They lowly Maple Leafs drowned the B's 8-2. The Big, Really Bad Bruins seem to be back to their old habits, losing.  But luckily for me, I could care less.  I won a whopping $20 bucks in a poker game.

ear's magic act.  With Houdini retired, it didn't look like the 2006-07 Celtics team would just disappear. There was no way.  But Danny Did It.  Not "Flutie Did It"  Danny Did It.  The young and up and going nowheres were gone and replaced by a couple of Hall of Famers, Garnett and Allen, and a couple of cagey vets, House and Posey.  Add the Hungry Man, Paul Pierce to the mix, and Danny's got a pretty tasty TV dinner on the table.
